What We've Been Doing in the New Year

Lily is a party animal! She boogied down on New Years Eve at an outdoor concert and dance. This is her using her Daddy's head as a drum. Even though her hands were icy by the time we left, she laughed and clapped and cheered through the entire thing.

And at the party she found this left over Christmas window painting and fell in love. She was positively giddy dancing around that old Grinch. Look at my little Cindy Lou-Who trying to bring him a little holiday cheer. I think she's winning him over.

Lily has a fascination with hats. Everything has the potential to become a hat. And whenever she sees one, whether in a book or in real life, she insists on pointing it out to me. Very loudly. Luckily she is still at an age where it is cute and not rude for her to point and yell at people.

And of course, she is having sooo much fun with her new big girl bed. She loves the freedom of it. And she especially loves that Mommy can sit on her bed with her.

Just look at those lashes. And don't you just want to bite those cheeks? 2009 promises to bring even more cuteness than 2008.

Lily has recently started licking her lips and saying "yummmm" when she's eating. And she is so animated about it. We laughed uproariously the first time she did it, and she quickly caught on that it was a crowd pleaser. Now she does it every time she eats. If you click on the collage you can see her sticking her little tongue out of the corner of her mouth. What a little performer!

Oh yes, and she got these super cool bath paints that she absolutely loves. The first time we broke them out she was thrilled. She not only got to paint the walls of the tub, but she got to paint herself. When bath time was over she kept pointing to her tummy saying "paint, paint."

I can't seem to get through a post without at least one food picture. Lily has mastered the spoon, I think. Although we still have to scrape food out of the carpet. Oh well, some day she will learn to be neat.

I have a HUGE secret that I've just been dying to reveal. And after much begging, Lily has finally given me permission to tell you all.
You see, Lily has a alter ego. By day she is Lily, the Queen of Cute. But by night....

She becomes Wonder Girl...saving the world one giggle at a time.

Bath paints crossed my mind at some point when Clara was much younger and I totally forgot about them until now. You've inspired me!

Lily's secret identity is hilarious.
